Changes in agri-environmental payments ahead
Important changes are ahead for agri-environmental payments! The amendment to the regulation on agri-environmental payments brings a number of important improvements aimed at facilitating procedures for farmers and more efficient management of the funds of the Common Agricultural Policy for 2023-2027. The key change is the easing of penalties for failure to prepare an agri-environmental plan on time. The existing penalties of 40% will be reduced to 10% of the payment if the plan is drawn up within 14 days after the deadline. At the same time, the lack of a plan or its preparation after the deadline will have other consequences, motivating farmers to act on time.
The new regulations also provide for improvements in the submission of documents to ARMA by standardizing the deadlines for drafting and submitting documents. Also important is the simplification of procedures for the protection of habitats and species in Natura 2000 areas and the easing of penalties for the lack of nature documentation. The draft also provides for more flexible disbursement of funds for reimbursement of transaction costs and expansion of the list of plants supported under the intervention. These changes are aimed not only at streamlining procedures, but also at sustainable agricultural development and environmental protection.
